About Leroy
Hi, I'm Leroy Lee, a pop and jazz pianist, keyboardist, and music educator with over 10 years of teaching and performing experience.
My musical journey began with classical piano training and later led me into pop, jazz, improvisation, and composition. Along the way, I earned an award at the inaugural Malaysian Jazz Piano Competition, completed a Bachelor's Degree in Contemporary Music at UCSI University, and performed professionally across Southeast Asia, including onboard cruise ships.
I teach students of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced players. Lessons are tailored to your goals and can include:
• Piano performance
• Playing by ear
• Accompaniment
• Improvisation
• Composition
• Music reading and theory
I believe music should be inspiring, practical, and enjoyable. My goal is not just to teach piano, but to help you make music a lifelong companion.

What to Expect in My Lessons
My lessons are structured, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all method, I guide students step by step with clear explanations, demonstrations, and musical examples that are easy to understand.
Each lesson is designed to help you build confidence at your own pace while developing a strong foundation in rhythm, harmony, technique, and musical expression.
Students can expect:
• Clear step-by-step guidance with practical demonstrations
• Concepts introduced gradually according to your level and learning pace
• Personalized lesson notes after each session to support your practice
• Backing tracks and musical exercises to improve timing, rhythm, and confidence
• Lesson recordings for online students to review after class
• A flexible approach suitable for beginners, returning learners, and more advanced players
• A supportive and enjoyable learning environment focused on your personal musical goals
The aim is not just to cover topics, but to help you understand how music works and apply it in a practical, creative, and enjoyable way.

Perfect! I have been taking the lesson for more than a month now. Even though I have some background knowledge, I still learn something new every lesson which keeps me motivated and excited to improve. I truly appreciate the effort he puts into preparing each lesson—it’s clear he cares about his students’ progress. The most important thing for me is that I’m not only learning but also enjoying it along the way. I feel very grateful for his dedication and teaching style.
- After having 5 lessons with Sam, I can positively say that she is someone who tries her best in the things that she does. She always completes the assignments I gave her and asked further questions whenever she has any. She is very pleasant to work with and I would love to continue guiding her in her musical journey in the foreseeable future.Leroy's response :
