About Harry
Hi! I'm Harry, a graduate of the University of Redlands with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Psychology. I've always had a passion for science, particularly understanding how and why things work, and I love sharing that curiosity with others.
During my undergraduate studies, I spent two years working as a peer tutor, helping fellow students navigate challenging courses in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Biology. Through this experience, I discovered how rewarding it is to help someone go from feeling completely overwhelmed by a subject to having that moment when everything finally clicks.
Beyond tutoring, I've gained hands-on experience working in healthcare, which has given me an even greater appreciation for the real-world applications of the sciences I teach. I also scored a 512 on the MCAT and a 34 on the ACT, so I understand firsthand the dedication, preparation, and study strategies required to succeed academically.
I consider myself patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in the success of the people I work with. I know that science can be intimidating, and I firmly believe that struggling with a subject doesn't mean you're incapable of mastering it. Sometimes all it takes is having someone explain a concept in a way that makes sense to you.
Outside of academics, I enjoy weightlifting, music, and spending time with my dog.
I look forward to getting to know you and helping you reach your academic goals!

I believe that succeeding in science isn't about memorizing endless facts and formulas—it's about truly understanding the concepts behind them. My goal as a tutor is to help students build that understanding, develop confidence in their abilities, and approach challenging material with a clear strategy.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Psychology and have two years of experience tutoring college-level General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Biology. I also scored a 512 on the MCAT and a 32 on the ACT, giving me firsthand experience with the study strategies and critical thinking skills needed to succeed in demanding academic environments.
**What you can expect from my lessons:**
- Personalized instruction: Every student learns differently. I tailor my teaching style to your strengths, weaknesses, and academic goals.
- Understanding over memorization: Rather than simply showing you how to solve a problem, I'll help you understand *why* the solution works so you can apply that knowledge to unfamiliar questions.
- Step-by-step explanations: I break down complicated concepts into manageable pieces, building from foundational principles toward more challenging material.
- Active learning: We'll work through practice problems together, identify areas of confusion, and develop strategies to tackle difficult questions independently.
- A supportive learning environment:** I encourage questions, patience, and curiosity. There are no stupid questions when you're learning something new!
Whether you're struggling to keep up in chemistry, preparing for an important exam, or looking to strengthen your understanding of biology, I'm here to help you succeed.
**My goal isn't just to help you earn a better grade—it's to help you become a more confident, independent learner. Whether that is for College preparation, or continuing your college education, I am eager to help you succeed!
