About Ollie
Hello! I’m Ollie, a seasoned Software Engineer with over seven years of professional experience. I embarked on my career at a young age, achieving the position of Senior Backend Software Engineer by the age of 21, where I earned over £50,000 a year. My journey has allowed me to work with a diverse array of companies, gaining expertise in numerous technologies and methodologies. My early rise to a senior role is a testament to my deep technical skills, dedication, and ability to deliver complex projects efficiently. Over the years, I've mastered various programming languages and frameworks, particularly PHP and Laravel, which I use to build scalable and secure applications. Having achieved significant milestones in my career, I decided to shift my focus to freelancing. This move has not only diversified my experiences but also given me the flexibility to pursue my passion for teaching and mentoring others. I bring a unique blend of real-world experience and theoretical knowledge to my tutoring sessions. My goal is to not only teach you software engineering concepts but also to inspire you with the insights and practices that have shaped my successful career.

As an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in PHP and Laravel, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with students of all abilities. My tutoring approach is centred around hands-on learning and real-world applications, ensuring that students not only understand the theoretical aspects of software engineering but also gain practical skills. My lessons are structured around interactive coding sessions and problem-solving exercises that encourage critical thinking and creativity. I utilise a variety of tools and platforms to simulate actual development environments, giving students a taste of what working as a software engineer involves. Each lesson typically lasts one hour, with flexibility depending on the student’s needs and concentration levels. This duration allows us to delve deeply into topics without overwhelming the student, providing time for both instruction and hands-on practice. I bring years of professional experience in software development, specifically in using technologies like PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, and various other frameworks. Having worked on numerous projects, I have a practical understanding of what skills are most valuable in the industry, which I aim to pass on to my students.
