About Joan
Hi, I’m Joan Wellington, a friendly and dedicated swimming tutor who enjoys helping students feel confident and comfortable in the water. I believe that learning to swim should be a positive and enjoyable experience, whether you are starting from the beginning or looking to improve your existing skills.
I am patient, attentive, and committed to adapting my lessons to each student’s individual needs and learning pace. I focus on creating a supportive environment where students can learn, practice, and make progress with confidence.
My goal is not only to help students improve their swimming technique, but also to help them develop greater confidence and a lasting enjoyment of swimming. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your swimming goals.

My name is Joan, and I am a patient and encouraging swimming tutor who enjoys helping students become more confident and comfortable in the water.
My teaching approach is personalized to each student’s experience and goals. I start by understanding the student’s current swimming ability, then build lessons around the skills they need to improve. For beginners, I focus on water confidence, breathing, floating, body position, and basic strokes before gradually introducing more advanced techniques.
A typical lesson includes a short warm-up, technique practice, guided exercises, and time to review progress. I give clear, simple instructions and demonstrate techniques so students can understand what they need to do and practice them safely.
What sets me apart is my patience and ability to adapt lessons to different learning speeds. I want every student to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at their own pace.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate swimmers, children, teenagers, and adults who want to learn swimming, improve their technique, build confidence, or develop their existing skills.
I look forward to helping you enjoy swimming while making steady progress toward your goals.
