About Daniel
Born and raised Philadelphia, Dan McCain is an acoustic and electric bassist and composer/arranger for his band The Dan McCain Quartet. Though he studied classical music with assistant principal bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Joseph Conyers, McCain has always found his true love in jazz, studying with Philly POPS bassist Steve Beskrone. Currently studying performance and music education at the University of the Arts, McCain has worked with the Kimmel Center education program, subbed for the Philly POPS Big Band, and has shared the stage with jazz greats such as Christian McBride, Terell Stafford, Dick Oats and many more.
I have worked with the Kimmel Center education program and for the Philly POPS Education program "POPS in Schools". I am also studying music education at the University of the Arts.
