About
I have an eclectic professional resume therefore having done my craft in a variety of arenas: dance, opera, circus, stage, film. I am also well travelled. I have a traveling theatre. I belong to acting unions. I am over 50 therefore have lots of experience in doing and teaching. I have taught children and elderly and those in between. I have taught acting in college and dance in a university, though don't feel fit to teach balleT or jazz because of physical restrictions. I can teach movement and Renaissance/Baroque dance because those forms are less demanding. I am a director and choreographer. I have my BA in dance but studied Shakespeare in London at the Royal Academy of Dranatic Art and Oxford. I lived in NY for ten years and studied with the best. I love to teach, I have taught internationally and I take people from where they are be it beginner or advanced. I have also taught the mentally challenged. I am not famous though I have worked with famous people and learned from them.

BA in Dance Education. My first professional job was teaching dance and choreographing shows in Switzerland at an American school. I have taught as an adjunct in SUNY Potsdam and North Country Community College. I have taught all during my professional career but not exclusively in schools due to a performing regimen.
I have a huge resume in a variety of theatrical venues. It's too complex to list but I have over 40 years experience of being a director, teacher, and performer.

Find out their background such as training. I also want to know their goals and how they envision what they want. It is important to know them as people, especially with acting, without getting too personal or familiar of course.
Children age 5-18, Adults, Elderly, Mentally challenged, professionals and non professionals.
Do research on that teacher. Not all teachers have websites but if you see a teachers that might interest the student or parent, interview them. A teacher/ student relationship is very intense built on trust and respect. Personalities have to gel.
I recently directed a Ten Minute Playwriting competition for Teens in the Bay Area sponsored by Theatre Odyssey. The play I directed won but it's a special event not because of my direction but because I like to see young minds encouraged to think and write. These plays had comedy, pathos and inspiration.

Ask the teacher about credentials and what teachers they studied with. What methods?Find out the teacher's philosophy. Ask what will be expected of them as far as time and effort.
