About Brian

My wife and I had been in Los Angeles working as professional actors for 30 plus years. She was on a major TV sitcom and both of us worked on a variety of commercials, movies, and tv appearances. We have had extensive training and real life experience with auditioning and we can assist you in any of your goals. We are here to support you and help you grow as you can see real results from your work outs with us. Call us anytime and we are happy to chat with you in more detail. Thank you for taking the time.

Brian & Angela Nahas

After doing a producition of Peter Pan years ago, the "Hook" character invited me to teach at a performing arts school in Orange County. I knew I always wanted to be a teacher but I really flourished and saw from the response of parents that it was a successful teacher. It lead me to some of them hiring me to meet with the children privately or with their parents close to the studios before television auditions. In my own Master acting class I was studying, I was being revered by teachers and celebrities who liked my work so much, they would ask me to work with them on their auditions.  Since then I've become a teacher/coach.

I won't give you my college credentials but I've been studying acting seriously since 1990 when I arrived to Los Angeles. A variety of classes mainly from one specific prestigious acting school that had many celebrity endorsements, The Beverly Hills Playhouse.  I've been working as an actor since 1992 getting my first paid job on General Hospital and quickly a job on a role for an HBO movie called Riot. 25 plus years as a union member and constantly training myself, going to various workshops and continue to work my craft as I stay on top of the business by being in an advanced scene study class.

Depending on what the student needs and based on their skills, a consultation to find out what they know thus far, and what they would like to learn.  Then I would tailor a few specific exercises and or scripts to "play" and have fun and informing the student what it is we are learning, why and how it will apply to the acting and techniques. Time can go quickly on a first meeting learning about each other but easily a 90 minute session to two hour is feasible.  Generally one hour is enough as to not tire out a student and can grasp concepts and information while fresh.  Mainly to gather information and to tailor make the best approach moving forward which can be altered as the actor grows and changes. This could be a novice situation.

Another scenerio could be a new student calls only needing to work one evening before they go to their audition as opposed as someone wanting to go through a specific script do a break down...also this is where we make specific choices based of the event(s) of the scene where we make solid choices of who this character, the psychology, behavior, and objectives of the character to inform us the most believable way building and playing the character through technique.

A different new actor might just call to have a regular coaching session on a play, movie, or tv show and  instead of attending classes with people in it, they like a one on one approach, feeling they can get more done in that session than sitting in a 4 hour class. The process typically has a goal of improving the actor's craft with learned technique and a special checklist to understand and learn, so that actor can direct him or herself in the future.

Everything from elementary school ages going to schools and working with teachers on their shows, to meeting with teens and their parents at their home and sometimes if they are actors going on auditions, I will meet them at the studio to work with them before they go in. Other times have been 20 something year old students working on pieces for college, for tv, or for movies as well as reading scenes with them helping to prepare and adults of all ages.

I would try to have at least a 10 minute chat for an introduction to each other. Share with them your thoughts on what you hope to gain, any set goals, your experience and the same with them.  Ask what kind of training do they have, how long have they studied acting and or taught and see if they have a resume as an actor/teacher/director or anything in the business. See if they had been an actor themselves and maybe watch their work on a reel or google them and discuss their work as well, etc. Why the got into it, are they still acting, their technique, their experiences, etc...

Generally an hour is $65 of one on one time. Once we get to working together and make a longer term plan, I can be a little more flexible and as low as $45-$55 based on distance traveled etc..
