About Victoria
I specialize in Audition/Monologue Coaching and Scene Study for youth and teen actors. I have worked in theatre, comedy, and film/tv, so I am familiar with many different styles of performance, and the industry standards for each. I have a Bachelors Degree in Acting from Syracuse University, one of Backstage and OnStage Blog's top 25 Acting programs. I was a teaching artist in after school programs for 10 years, and began coaching privately 5 years ago. I have studio space in my home on the Northwest side of Chicago, and am willing to travel to your home as well, as long as it is accessible by public transit. ***EDIT: Due to COVID-19 precautions, I am currently only teaching via Zoom.***
As a working actress myself, I am consistently auditioning, and am therefore aware of the professional expectations that can elude new actors. I am here to de-mystify the audition process! I have a particular specialty in preparing 8th grade and 12th grade students for high school/college performing arts program auditions. As of 2020 100% of my private coaching students have been accepted to one of their top choices.
I love connecting with my students and watching them grow as performers. Selfishly, teaching others makes me a better actress too!

I start with some simple acting exercises, then dive in to whatever they are working on. I help them break down the text in a way that will bring their unique perspective to the character. I also tailor training to whatever medium they're working in, (theatre, film/tv, commercials, etc) as well as make sure they know what to expect in an audition situation.

Victoria is an amazing teacher! My daughter was looking at a drama program for high school and was a bit nervous about auditions. While she had grammar school stage experience and loads of dance experience, delivering a monologue in front of group of others auditioning for the same place in the program she was striving for, in addition to the teacher and existing students? Well, that was a bit daunting. After a couple of sessions with Victoria, the change in her confidence was amazing! Victoria also helped her pick the perfect monologue to fit her personality allowing her to shine during that audition and land her a spot in the program she so wanted to be a part of. I can NOT sing Victoria's praises high enough! That confidence she instilled in my child for that audition, it has carried through in so many other aspects of life.
