About Jim
I have 39 years of combined experience working in TV, Radio, Voice-Over and on camera acting for TV and commercials. I have been a union performer since 1993. I have worked as a Film Critic and have interviewed and learned from Hollywood’s biggest stars. I have worked with some of LA’s best acting coaches. Put it all together and you can access an incredible wealth of knowledge, not just about “acting”, but the “business” and what to do and not to do. Get to know the person and where they are in their process. iall about getting work. Focus on practical goals and practical training the can be drawn upon as needed.
People of any age who are just starting and could use basic information on what and what not to do to get work! Don't get ripped off!
Listen to your gut. Does the teacher have real experience? Do they treat you with respect? Do they ask for money upfront or constantly ask you to spend more? If it doesnt feel right. Dump them and move on.
I recently helped an actor not to get taken by a casting scam. Also advised an actor on basic steps to do a solid on camera audition.

Jim O'Brian is the best. He taught me everything I needed to know about how to do a self taped audition and how to go about getting a reel made and coaching on the proper way to do taped auditions. i want to make my service as affordable as possible. I will negotiate with students and take in ability to pay. Roughy $25.00 per hour for in person, online or phone coaching. I can also help with video and voice-over reels. I can also advise you on head shots and equipment purchases for submiting from home for on camera and voice-over.
