About ALAN
The more you act, the less you act.
How Zen, right? But true.
The Atlanta film market is challenging and growing. There is a place for anyone and everyone who wants to get involved. There is no one who can't act. If you want to get involved and be on the stage or film, Alan can help you get there with both audition and performance techniques, as well as career counseling.
Together, you'll dig down into the roles and scripts you find challenging, as well as deepen your abilities in the roles in which you already feel comfortable. You can have your performances taped to see yourself on screen and find out what it is you're doing that works and does not work.
As for who Alan Levine is and his expereience, after several years performing in theater all over Atlanta, he began working in film and television all over the Southeast. In addition to being in several award-winning independent features, he most recently appeared on TVOne's Fatal Attraction (filmed in Knoxville) and completed the TV movie Graveyard (filmed in Atlanta).
Having a law degree, Alan has on multiple occassions provided script consultation on proper legal procedure to enhance believability and realism.

There is nothing more fun than being on a movie set or a stage. Telling stories is one of the highest, most important arts we humans do. It's right up there with music and any other form of visual expression like painting or sculpture. Helping people to play a role, big or small, in the telling of a story, be it in theater or on film, is as much fun as acting itself.

Brief interview to determine what is their experience and what it is they are looking to accomplish in the near future and beyond. Do they have a script or audition they are working on? Are they looking to get comfortable with a particular role or in front of the camera?
Do they need to work on memorization techniques? Role interpretation? Voice or delivery techniques? Listening and reacting?
Then, once we know what the student's goal or goals are, we get to work for 30 munutes or more and look to develop and improve the student as an actor, performer and professional.
