About Anna
I teach acting skills, performance preparation, and audition prep. My service is different because I use my training as a creative arts and therapeutic drama practitioner to help students use, build, and apply the tools of this form of training to help and support those interested not only in landing acting roles but also work on releasing stress, talking out issues through role play, and feel safe about using the benefits of drama to build self confidence in order to be successful in both acting and performance endeavors as well as gain further life skills via communication styles and problem solving capacities through the mediums of drama, dance movement, and role play.
I enjoy the work I do because I believe in honing skills through natural ability to play as well as developing the social and emotional well being of people through the healing power of the creative arts. As a youth coach, I am committed to supporting my clients with their interpersonal and social emotional skills.
I began teaching theatre and performing arts as a teaching artist and drama instructor for various non-profits, working specifically with boys ages 5-13 and with teens and young adults. Soon after I was hired as the Director of the drama and performing arts program in 2 DOE public high schools in the Bronx. At the time, I was also in training for educational theatre and therapeutic drama training for group facilitation. I started getting an interest to teach one to one when parents asked me after watching my work or plays put on with young people in addition to networking in the arts community.
I have trained at several acting schools both within the US and the UK. Physical Theatre, Meisner Technique, Practical Aesthetics, and Method acting are a few of the more known acting methods I have used in addition to Stanislavski, and European Physical Theatre, clowning and body work. Dance theatre and playback. I have also been training in psychotherapy and the creative arts therapies with a focus on drama therapy throughout the country.

I have worked with a range of youth populations from ages 5-24, from both lower income and middle income backgrounds, however, my drama and performance coaching work focuses on working with teens and young adults, and have worked predominantly with putting on performances and coaching young men.
