About Jack
I'm a regularly working actor and theatre director. I have my own theatre in S. Pasadena, where my wife and I produce and direct about 8 shows a year, most with youth actors. I've personally appeared on the live stage thousands of times, and have worked on TV, film, and more than 100 commercials. In addition, I have coached multiple students to roles on screen and on stage.
What I enjoy most is seeing a kid really "get it" for the first time and seeing their confidence soar. After that, the sky's the limit!
I got my degree in theatre education, but never with the intent to teach in the school system. Directing youth musical theatre summer camps led me to private coaching, and then to teaching
I have a B.S. in Theatre Education, and more than 20 years of professional acting and directing experience. I run my own theatre specifically for youth actors, where we do around 8 shows a year, and I still actively audition and perform on stage and screen. I have directed over 100 productions with youth actors, working with thousands of youth in the process

I find out what a student's current level is so I can know what is the next level I can bring them to. My students will get pushed to be their best, but never more than they can handle.
Real-world experience is far more important than any degree, so I would look for someone first who has actually done what you are trying to do, and hopefully, a lot.

A one-on-one coaching session is $125 for up to an hour. My weekly scene class is $75 for the first month, $150/month after that.
