About Edward
One of the advantages of being an actor who has produced and cast my own film and commercial projects is that I have learned a lot about life on "the other side of the table." I seek to share that experience with my students. The goal of this class is to help you hone your acting and audition skills such that when you leave an audition, you can say, "I did what I wanted to do!"
Too often, as actors, our nerves get in the way of our talent. My class also addresses this basic obstacle. Taking its cue from the teachings of my mentor, long-time acting coach David LeGrant, On-Camera Acting helps you learn to make the interesting choices that will set you apart from everybody else in the room. I focus on your individuality and help you find yourself in whatever role you are attempting.
Our class format is simple. In keeping with the way the audition process works, I will email you hand-picked sides before class. When you arrive to class, you will be placed "on set." I shoot a total of five takes. We do two takes and then take an objective look at the choices you made on your own. We will then arrive at some adjustments for the remaining three takes. You will be a participant in making your own adjustments, with coaching from me as "The Director." You will begin to see changes right away, guaranteed! I intentionally keep the class small, so you will receive a lot of individual attention.
When I see an actor really begin to indulge themselves as an individual artist, it lights me up. Most of my work is teaching my students how "not to act" and really be in the moment in a scene.
Having studied with legendary acting coach David LeGrant for over a decade, I began to take on after school programs with high school students. I moved into adult classes after Mr LeGrant retired and the class asked me to take over.
I was reluctant at first, but began to find my own voice as an acting teacher and coach. I truly get inspired by watching my actors have artistic breakthroughs in class.
Having worked as an actor and owned a production company, and cast my own projects. I have firsthand experience with what it takes to secure a job.

I work as an acting coach. I also teach semi-private on camera acting classes. I run my class like the audition experience. I send out sides in advance for students to prepare for class
I've worked with students at all levels, from beginning actors to series regulars. I have a unique gift for identifying acting problems for individuals looking to improve their skills.
Find a coach that is going to put professional demands on you. It's great to find a class and study technique, but make sure you do your research.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why do I want to be an actor ?
Am I willing to challenge myself artistically?
What am I afraid of in pursuing this work?

The personal attention Eddie give you is warm, fun, and safe. He ALWAYS thinks outside the box AND somehow is able to employ what's on the page in tandem in a way that gets me callback after callback. He's fantastic.
It is so hard to put into words the growth I've experienced working with Eddie. The safe space Eddie creates to fully express myself and grow in acting is unparalleled, and it is through his guidance that I've discovered new approaches to acting and the material that I have never experienced before. The encouragement to be yourself no matter the role, while also providing techniques and tools to show up and make the best first impression, make Studio for Acting an unmatched environment for actors (new and seasoned) to grow. 10/10 experience!
Eddie is an incredible acting coach! His ability to break down scripts and help shape strong, honest performances has been a game changer for me. I've been able to pinpoint my strengths and weaknesses in a nonjudgemental and extremely safe environment. I've booked multiple roles working with him, and his guidance has helped me grow so much as an actor. Always insightful, supportive, and sharp—I'm truly grateful to have him in my corner.
Eddie is truly one of a kind.
He won't stop until you're both 100% satisfied with a self-tape that’s not just good, but competitive enough to book the job. Every session with him feels like a mini acting class. I’ve learned new tools and techniques each time, and I can honestly say my craft has grown tremendously because of it.
What’s amazing is how the learning builds over time. It's like compound interest for your acting skills—the more you work with Eddie, the stronger and more confident you become. He’s not just helping me tape; he’s helping me grow into the actor I want to be.
Can’t recommend him enough!I booked the job! The first time I worked with Eddie!I really appreciate everything about him. The guidance the direction the lighting the studio all superior thank you Eddie!
I think what makes for a great acting studio is a combination the quality of teaching and the physical space itself. Studio for Acting is a a 5-star experience in both regards. Edward is not only a very talented actor in his own right (with a constantly evolving resume to prove it), but he is such a caring and effective teacher. Teaching is a skill that not many talented people are good at, but learning from Edward is like taking a master class every time! I always feel like a better actor when I work with Edward.
