About Hannah
I understand the pressures of being a student who is trying their best to navigate academia and excel. I also know that a new or unfamiliar subject may seem intimidating, but I can help you tackle it by bringing your own strengths to the table and applying what you already know. This way, talking about art will become more comfortable for you because you'll learn how to digest it in a way that is exciting for you.
I love the moment where something "clicks" for someone. Working with someone to help them understand and appreciate art is also a wonderful learning process for me: the more I teach, the more I learn, and I become a better teacher because of my students.
I have a BA and an MA in art history. Pursuing a higher degree has helped me understand the academic system, and what helps a student's work stand out.
I've offered tutoring services to art history students at all levels for the past 4 years. I've also spent a good deal of time in Turkey, where I was trained as an archaeologist, another field I am well-versed in.
Recently I was a research intern at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and thus museum studies are also among my interests.

My first step is to understand a student's strengths: are they visual learners? More hands-on? Maybe their strengths are in math, so numbers have more meaning than visuals. Or perhaps they prefer to write everything down so they can digest it later. Every student learns differently, and to help them learn, I like to understand how they learn best.
