About Coach

I develop the mind and train the body. With my playing experience and my teaching/coaching skillset I, through time and effort, groom students for the next level and beyond. The only limit is how far the student wants to go.

Thank you for you time.

Coach Ryan

I love getting the chance to change the lives of young althetes. Sports are a wealth of personal development and I truly enjoy, as an educator, teaching my students something that they can take with them long after our time together.

I started teaching while in my second year of college, during that time it was more that I would mentor middle school and high school students through my program Male Success Alliance (MSA) and my focus became stronger on the path of coaching when I finished my first summer training session as a head JV Coach.

During my time in College I was a Conflict Resolution expert, Male Student Mentor and Dorm Advisor (2013-2016). In addition I also worked at Bethune Middle School as a Teachers Aid (2016-2017) and following college i went further in servicing schools by coaching baseball at SouthEast High School as the Junior Varisty/Assistant Varsity Coach for 3 years (2017-2020) and a year as the Head Varsity Coach (2019-2020)

How I train a new student is how I train all my students when I first meet them; Starting with jump ropes, ladder drills, and strength exercises so that I can observe the type of athlete the student is and that can tell me how well the student can adapt to new moves and improvements. Secondly, in the beginning, I'll purposely keep baseball activity to a minimum to test the mental fortitude of the student, this will tell me if the student is coachable and if they understand the "means to an end" concept of baseball. This alone will make for a great first session and a development for a personalized workout for the next.

I've worked all levels of students. During my first year coaching I was mainly assigned new to baseball students those who are less than 2 years playing and need help learning things from throwing, fielding and throwing. By my second year, and following, I began to teach developing students those who can be considered experienced in the sport how to improve their game, build consistentcy, and skillset development. In my last year coaching at SouthEast I worked exclusively with highly skilled students to help them complete their growth within the game and go on to the next level.

I have experience taking students on every level achieve the next.

I would advise students to be open-minded, realize that the results are just the byproduct of good use of muscle memory and you become good at using muscle memory through the hard work.

Also if you aren't challanging yourself and your craft consistently then you aren't improving.

I've become very found of my most recent development in private coaching/training, during these last few months I have had the pleasure of coaching a young student in his first few years of batmon league baseball. He has been an enlightenment on this journey to coach the next generation of ball players as he shows a passion unlike I have ever seen, self-encouraged and self-inspired student who is a dream to have at a sponge-like age.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Questions you should be asking coaching are:

How can I improve my skillset?

What areas am I currently strong at? And in what areas am I in need of improvement?

What position do I have the potential  to compete for at the next level?

Who is a MLB player I can observe and model my game after?

What type of bad habits do I currently need help with?
