About Charles
2nd City CPR & Safety Training is a Chicago-based, service-disabled veteran-owned organization that provides practical CPR, AED, First Aid, Stop the Bleed, and emergency preparedness education. The company emphasizes American Heart Association–aligned certification training and hands-on, skills-focused instruction designed for real-world emergencies—not just compliance.
The team delivers training both on-site and in classroom settings for employers, schools, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, public agencies, faith-based groups, and community organizations. Offerings include mobile training solutions such as a mobile CPR skills assessment lab, immersive youth fire safety education, and event-based medical readiness support. 2nd City CPR serves Chicago and Cook County and partners with community stakeholders to expand access to life-saving education.
Founded by Charles J. Reed—a career firefighter/paramedic and U.S. Air Force veteran—the organization brings frontline emergency response experience to every program.
