About Morenike
I have been an educator for over 23 years in The Baltimore City School System. I specialize in Middle School Life Science. I have been a facilitator for systematic professional development for middle school science teachers, written the Life Science honors curriculum for Baltimore City Public Schools and held the positions of a systemic teacher mentor and science team lead. I am currently teaching 7th grade science and serve as coordinator of my schools OST-afterschool program. My experiences have afforded me the opportunity to develop strategies that help me to build relationships with my scholars that allow me to proactively gage the best way to individualize instruction that will best benifit each one. Life Science can sometimes seem difficult, especially because of new vocabulary. My desire is to help build a firm foundation of knowledge that scholars can build upon while realizing that they really already know so much more than they think they do. Science is a part of our everyday lives. When scholars are able to make that connection, they will thrive.
I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. I have been teaching middle school Life Science for over 23 years.

I generally begin with and introduction and consultation. The goal is to begin building a relationship with the scholar and family while also assessing the specific needs and academic areas of concern. My next step would be to develop lessons that will not only enhance the scholars learning experience and provide clarity but to also help scholars develop strategies to increase study skills and become more confident academically.
