About Janelle
Hello! My name is Janelle, I am a 24-year-old Dental School graduate with a passion for teaching! I strongly believe that each and every student learns in their own way. The goal I have is to discover the different ways in which my students best understand and perceive information and to incorporate that into my lessons to fully take advantage of every session. I will ensure that each class is rich in information and equally as rich in understanding.
Prior to dental school, I was on the Pre-Dental track at Florida International University where I was a member of the PLTL (Peer-Led Team Learning) organization. Here, I was able to teach a class of students college-level Biology. In these weekly 1h 45min courses I would go through topics explained in class and reinforce or explain them in a more in-depth and personal matter.
While in dental school I studied for and passed my National Board Dental Exam Part 1. After passing my exam, I set up a tutoring service for those students who needed help in certain areas of the exam such as the following: Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology. Fortunately, this tutoring service went on until I graduated dental school now in August of 2020.
These teaching opportunities have given me the chance to reinforce subjects that I am personally passionate about and demonstrate that I have the capabilities to properly and adequately share my knowledge with those who need it.
