About Alissa
Due to my interpersonal skills, I always have a great time tutoring. I love learning and love to share that passion with others. I do not want students to feel discouraged when having trouble but instead feel inspired to want to understand.
What I enjoy most about the work I do is that it is the most rewarding job out there. Nothing can replace the feeling when something finally clicks and all the hard work pays off.
I started tutoring in middle school where I guided students in Math. I then became a Computer Science Teaching Assistant last year.
I am currently completing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and will be a Associate Software Engineer starting next July. I have had experience working with Java for 3 years now along with other experience in SQL, Pytho, C, C++, and JavaScript.

When working with a new student my process will start off by guaging their current comfort with the material. I will then ask them their key focus points they will want to focus on. From there, I will go over assignments that focus on these points to ensure they will understannd the concepts and the application.
I have worked with a wide variety of students in many different fields.
