About Johnathon
I learned how to cook because I wanted to cook for myself and I did it mostly by studying others. I spent most of my working career in restaurants, both in the Front of the House and the Back of the House.
I strive to cook using traditional techniques using as little processed ingredients as possible. "Keep it simple" is my motto.
The food I cook comes from my desire to eat. I am American Korean and therefore have a lot of Asian style food in my repertoire. Rice, stirfry, broiled, sauteed and grilled meats and vegetables. I don't use butter in my cooking.
I enjoy sharing experiences and knowledge about the food we eat. I have the desire to use the local ingredients all around us and express them in a way we can all enjoy.
I have a B.A. in Food and Beverage Management and have worked in high-end New York City restaurants for 16 years.
