About Leesa

Sage is defined as both an aromatic culinary herb, and as being wise through reflection and experience.

SAGE endeavors to teach the benefits and pleasure of both cooking and meditation. After all, cooking is a form of meditation, and meditation is soul food.

As an alchemist, I help guide you to transform ingredients into healthy, delicious and visually pleasing recipes. I am a self taught creative chef and baker with over 40 years of experience. I specialize in rustic and elegant preparation styles.

As a mystic, I practice many forms of meditation, with over thirty years experience quieting my mind and entering into stillness. I have a deep knowledge of ten major styles of meditation, as well as two forms of Kriya. The benefits of meditation are proven. Meditation helps us become more aware, focused, and centered. It expands consciousness, improves brain health; and helps us achieve a lasting sense of calm, relaxation, inner peace and harmony.

"What food is to the stomach, meditation is to the mind."

— Anasree Chatterjee

Be Sage. Nourish yourself!

I enjoy empowering others to learn a skill that enables them to live with more awareness, to accomplish their goals, and to gain the confidence necessary to trust in their ability to care for and nurture their mind body and soul in healthy and beneficial ways.

I enjoy being mindful, cooking, baking and meditating, and love to share my passions with others.

I am an avid learner, and I first started teaching at an early age. Life experience has taught me much. And, fortunately, I have had many precious mentors and wise teachers along the way.

Actually, I was born to teach. As early as I can remember I was teaching my brother and sister, and the neighborhood kids, anything and everything that they would sit still long enough to learn. That eventually followed with me teaching my own children and grandchildren.

I first started teaching adults in Colorado Springs, in the 1990s. I am humbly honored to have been the first and only person every allowed to teach spirituality through the Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation Department. And, in that course, I had students as young a sixteen and as old as sixty-eight.

For over fifteen years, I have facillitated gatherings and written and taught many online workshops.

I absolutely love to inspire and empower others! And so, I am especially proud of my son who is a professional chef in Colorado Springs, and my twenty-one year old grandson who won a National cooking contest which prompted a five star restaurant in Golden to hire him to prepare and plate the most exquisite salads and desserts.

I first began watching my mother and grandmother cook at a very young age. If something was happening in the kitchen, I was there to observe, and help when allowed.

By the age of twelve, I was often given the responsibility of preparing meals for myself and my siblings when my mother and my stepfather went out to dinner with friends or clients, and when they were out of the country- traveling the world.

Throughout my twenties, I was a devoted stay-at-home mother who creatively prepared three meals a day (plus dessert) for my husband and children. I enjoyed inviting our family and friends to dinner, picnics, and BBQs, and spent many happy hours baking for the holidays, for school and fundraising events.

I began my semi-professional chef/baking career in my early thirties when I was hired by a learning center to plan, shop for, and prepare nourishing and delicious meals for almost one hundred children under the age of thirteen. Since that time, I have worked in private homes cooking for individuals and couples, and I even sold bakedgoods as a small cottage industry.

Among my tribe, I am honored and respected for my culinary expertise.

My most enjoyable cooking experiences are: hosting large, themed dinner parties; designing creative tiny bites for fairy tea parties; baking and decorating elaborate, one-of-a-kind birthday cakes; creating and testing original recipes; and planning and preparing the entire Thanksgiving feast every year for the last thirty years for my family and friends.

Relating to meditation, I am completely self taught.

I am a mystic. Since early childhood, I effortlessly live from a meditative state of being. (Confession: my 1st-3rd grade teachers wrote on every report card: "Leesa daydreams too much!").

Once aware of the art of meditation, I began to consciously seek ways to practice. I admit that for years I couldn't help but be distracted by my thoughts, an itch, or a sound... I even had difficulty breathing! As the moment I became aware of my breath, it no longer became effortless.

After many years of dedication to meditative practice, last year I blissfully and unexpectedly entered Samahdi. Remind me to tell you about it, sometime (if you're interested), and NOW, I am lovingly and sincerely compelled to assist others in finding their own soulful stillness path through the gentle yet powerful art of meditation.
