About Anna
Hello dancers!
My name is Anna and I am a professional ballet dancer / dance instructor currently based in Charlotte, NC. In our lessons we will refine your technique and further develop your artistry while building your confidence. Classes will include dance anatomy, theory, injury prevention, and career prep for dancers ready to launch their careers. In my class I pay close attention to technical precision and building the correct foundation of dance technique so that students get the maximum benefit out of their private sessions. Learn to dance from the comfort of your home through zoom classes or at a dance studio nearest you.
Lessons will be uniquely personalized to the individual needs of the student. My students currently range from first year beginners to pre-professionals ready to start their dance careers. It is my primary goal to foster your love of dancing while cultivating the joy of learning and improving in a nurturing and encouraging environment. As a professional dancer myself, I believe artistry is the most important aspect of dance, it is the very thing that turns a good dancer into a GREAT dancer. That’s why in my class we will focus on refining your gift of artistry by focusing on épaulement, upper body placement, dance imagery, and musicality.
To dancers who want to dance professionally but have no clue where to start.. I am fully devoted to sharing with you all my knowledge and advice that you will need to navigate the dance industry with my goal being to help you become the artist you dream of becoming. No matter what level you are starting from or what your goals and dreams may be, I cannot wait to work with you and see all your talent unfold!

I began my classical ballet training at the age of five years old and have been dancing ever since! During my early ballet training I studied classical ballet technique at the Charlotte School of Ballet through both the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) and the Cechetti Method where I then had the privilege of participating for many years in world-renowned examinations where I received numerous awards of "Distinction" and "Highly Commended". In 2009, I had the privilege of dancing with the Moscow Ballet in The Great Russian Nutcracker during their tour to Charlotte, NC. During my pre-professional training years I began to expand my focus in studying other styles of dance. Among those were: Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Ballroom and Character Dance. In 2016, I was chosen by Gelsey Kirkland (former partner of Mikhail Baryshinkov and world renowned ballerina) to be coached by her at her school in New York City. At the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet I was trained in the Vaganova and Bournonville method of ballet technique. During my senior year of high school I was invited to join the U.S International Ballet as a corps de ballet member. There, I had the privilege of dancing many roles varying from corps de ballet to soloist. In 2019, I joined Columbia Classical Ballet Company for its 2019/2020 season where I danced in numerous ballets including: Giselle, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, Red Riding Hood, and The Wizard of Oz. I am still dancing professionally and have found another passion in teaching dance to all ages. My ultimate hope is to inspire the joy of ballet and its rich history to the next generation. Repertory Includes: The Nutcracker, Giselle, Swan Lake, Coppelia, La Bayadere, A Midsummer Summer’s Night's Dream, Cinderella, The Great Russian Nutcracker, Alice in Wonderland, Vampires, Snow White, The Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides, Red Riding Hood, and The Wizard of Oz. ........................................................................
