Scoil Rince Ni Riada Irish Dance Las Vegas, Nevada’s premiere Irish Dance School is open for students of all ages and skill levels. Take a free class with us and check us out!
Scoil Rince Ni Riada (Skoal Reen-ka Knee Ree-uh-duh) Irish Dance: Las Vegas features instruction from award-winning Irish dance instructor, Tara Reid, TCRG (don’t get freaked out by the name, it’s just gaelic for The Reid School of Dance). Our dancers here at Irish Dance Las Vegas specialize in solo dancing, ceili dancing, and performance.
Our competitive solo dancers have placed in the top 10 at our regional qualifiers and have qualified for the National and World Championships! We have just come back from Dublin for the 2017 World Championships of Irish Dance. Nick danced well and did us all proud. 6 of our dancers have returned from New Orleans after competing in the North American Nationals, all having danced at this event for the first time. They did our school proud.
Ceili dances are social dances that have been passed down the generations-some of them from 1500 AD! They range from groups of 4 dancers to 16 and are danced at social functions as well as at competitions and are danced the world over. We have fun getting our dance parents and members of the public up for these dances at our parties and performances. I think they are surprised by how easy and fun it is to partake in these dances. Our Under 15 mixed team(boys and girls) placed 4th at our regionals last November. They, and the rest of our competition teams are starting to place quite well at competition.
Our performance team has performed all over the valley, from parades, to highland festivals, weddings and corporate events, to The Smith Center with The Chieftans and the Henderson Pavilion with The High Kings and Solas!

Passing on my Irish culture is so exciting. We teach dancers how to understand the music and we teach dances that are done the same the world over, and have been for many generations-some social dances date back to the 15th century! But there is nothing like seeing something "click" with a dancer and helping dancers achieve their goals is second to none. I love that Irish dance incorporates soft and hard shoe, solo and group, and traditional with contemporary. It really has something for everyone. Our dancers are a family here and they have friends and family for life.
my mother and Aunties had schools in Kansas City and in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I started as a child, began eloping out as a teenager. I got a job irish dancing with an irish band in Las Vegas and six months later started teaching for the Martin Percival School of Irish Dance. He retired in 2013, and Scoil Rince Ni Riada was born.
I am certified through An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha in Dublin, Ireland.
We have 3 certified teachers at our school and the 4th is working on her certification.

We start out listening and clapping along to music to start learning our dances andthe rhythm of each kind. We do a warm up and then we start learning basics as well as a dance we end each class with.as each dancer progresses, the learn more movements and steps to four core dances: reel, light jig, single jig and slip jig.
All kinds. Students who’ve never danced, others with dance experience in other forms, special needs, kids and adults.
Irish Dance is not like other forms of dance. We start out in softshoe and progress to hardshoe. We do team exercises in the first year or two but our team class is invite only.
We are a competitive school but we do loads of performances and we are accepting of students who just want to take class. We move each dancer along at their pace.
we don’t require shoes until you are sure you want to do this.
We did an event called Something Scottish that was held at the Windmill Library. Great space, fantastic event, great audience. The dancers loved performing on such a wonderful stage.

We have a yearly registration fee of $35.00
Our Baby Steps class is 30 minutes a week and tuition is $30.00 a month.
Our Beginner class is 45 minutes a week and $45.00 a month.
