I enjoy watching students come into the studio with a strong passion for the arts and are dedicated and focused on learning all that they can.
I got started in dance at 2 yrs old. It quickly became my passion and something I had to have in my life. I started with ballet, tap and jazz. Hip hop was introduced to me and quickly became my favorite genre of dance.
I have a bachelors in Fine Arts. I’m trained in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Cunningham technique, Horton technique, African and many more. I have worked for MTV as a “Made” Coach and was featured season 2 and 3 of Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance”. I have also performed with music artist: Hurricane Chris, Goody Mob, Big Boi of OutKast and more.

When working with new students we start at the basics. We ensure that the student is comfortable and confident with what they’re being taught.
I’ve worked with students at beginning stages all the way to advanced. Some students come in without any experience but a strong love for the art of dance. These students can easily become your most focused and dedicated students because they’re super hungry and eager.
I would advise that students look for patient teachers, teachers that strive to help make them the best at what they do.

My son was shy but loved to dance around the house. I decided to put him in dance in the hopes that it would bring him out of his shell. David is 11 and wasn’t very sociable. Attending classes at Amara Dance Studio has really helped him in social skills. He talks more and is more comfortable being around his peers. Not to mention his dancing is coming along quite well.
I scheduled lessons for my 10 yr old daughter Zoe. She loves hip hop but always felt awkward. Ms. Desi J saw that and was able to bring her out of her she’ll. Although Zoe hasn’t taken lessons long, I can definitely see a great improvement and she’s becoming really confident within herself. Taking Zoe to Amara Dance Studio was a great choice for us!
My daughter has been taking private lessons with lyrical instructor Nadasia. She was a beginner when she started. I’ve seen the growth and progress throughout her time with Nadasia. She’s very kind and patient with my 11 yr old. My daughter is always excited when she learns something new.
