About Abigail
I have been a professional artist for almost 6 years now. I have a passion for painting, be it acrylic, oil, or scenic painting. I work as a scenic designer for several Chicago theatres and run a small business as an artist. I have been teaching my craft for 3 years now, and I am excited to teach you!
I started teaching drawing for after school matters, then I taught stagecraft at the High School level through Northeestern University, and now I am teaching independently.
I have a bachelors degree in visual art, 5 years professional experience as an artist and designer.

I typically try to find out what their goals for the class are, and create a rubric around those topics plus a few other topics I think they would enjoy. It will be tailored to each student.
High school age and older
Look for a teacher willing to tailor their program to you. Everyone learns at their own pace and it's important for a teacher to be flexible.
Toward the beginning of the pandemic, I made 18 new works and staged a virtual gallery that allowed viewers to step through the gallery at their own pace and view from the comfort of their own home. This was highly appreciated as people were missing the ability to go to galleries in person.
