About Brian
30+ years percussion experience, and now teaching. My lessons are student specific, but would typically emphasize mastering rudiments, timing, and proficient technique. In addition, I can teach you how to cover advanced progressive music, i.e. Dream Theater. My drum channel is dedicated to covering all of Dream Theater's music. My style most closely emulates that of Mike Mangini, Mike Portnoy, and Neil Peart. My lessons are convienient because they can be taken regardless of where the student lives in the world. All you need is internet access. All lessons are posted in a professional quality format on my YouTube drum channel (Precise Percussion), which would be viewable by myself and the student only. Introductory level students preferred.
I believe I can help new drummers out there to achieve a strong percussive foundation, learn to cover music accurately, avoid injuries often associated with drumming, and to avoid musical limitations due to inferior technique(s).
Studied under various professional instructors over the years. I utilize the techniques/style of pro's like Mike Mangini and Mike Portnoy. Played in a band years ago and now I am interested in teaching, as well as growing my YouTube drum channel- Precise Percussion. So far, ages 18-25, 25-45, Introductory level, with basic knowledge, experience, and equipment.
A strong foundation and solid technique, are the keys to becoming a great musician in the feild of percussion.

Details
$15.00 per lesson, but varies on specificity and length. Typically, I would post a lesson 15 minutes in length, first demonstrating a a skill on the snare only, and then demonstrating how to incorporate it into music on a full kit. Further, I will teach to the students wants/needs. For instance, if the student wants to know how to play a complex fill in a song they like, or how to play a certain groove, I would do my best to help them with attributes like tonal recognition, phrasing, time signatures, style, etc.
