In the beginning of the first meeting I check where the student stands: I offer a small writing assignment, I check the reading level, offering to read an excerpt and then we discuss what the student has just read. I develop the student's cirle of knowledge and interests continuing to work gradually, giving more material, and more challenging assignments.
