My typical process is to first find a connection. Building a relationship is key to successful learning. In order to provide learning that is tailored to the student I need to get to know my students as individuals and as learners. I do this through a simple discussion with the student to guage what their interests are, what makes them successful in the classrom, and what strategies have they tried before that may not have worked.
