About Megan
Hello!
I am an aspiring High School English Teacher and I am excited to help students improve their writing, reading understanding, and help expose students to common literary themes, symbols, and rhetorical devices.
I graduated last year from Marriotts Ridge High School am currently a freshman at the University of Maryland- College Park and I am majoring in English Literature and Secondary Education. I have prior experience in tutoring students in the grades of 7th-12th grade.
My hours are flexible and Tutoring can occur at the students house or over zoom
I love teaching because I want to help make a lasting difference in my student's lives and help them be better prepared for high school, college, and beyond. I hope to inspire students to enjoy the English subject more and find a passion in reading.
I have experience tutoring and I am currently a student enrolled in English and Education related courses.

When working with new students, I'll ask for the skills they want to work on.
If desired skills are writing-related, I'll ask for previous writings to be sent so I can come up with a plan.
If the desired skills are reading comprehension/analysis, I will suggest short readings and we can work from there.

Working with Megan is amazing. Most teachers don’t take the time to sit down with you and actually teach you how to write a paper. Megan does the total opposite, I have learned so much from her. Working with Megan has increased each of my essays by at least 5-10%. I am able to write an essay that I feel comfortable and proud of!
