About Holly
I am a current undergraduate student at East Tennessee State University, on track to graduate in May 2021.
All through school I have excelled in reading, writing, and language arts, and it has always brought me great joy to help my classmates.
My only tutoring experience is volunteer work with classmates, friends' children, and most recently I've been helping refugees strengthen their English skills. My intended career is to teach English as a foreign language, but I am all about making learning fun and accessible for native speakers, too!
I am in the process of building my tutoring portfolio. I have no formal training, but teachers have recommended me to proofread other students' work since I was very young and I have always been happy to help. It is only recently I have chosen to incorporate these skills into a career.

First I examine the coursework and discuss learning goals. Then I develop an individual approach and try to identify what the student is having problems with. Together, we work to understand the root of the problem and by trial and error, determine which teaching methods will best help them reach their goals.

Details
For a one hour session, I charge $13. This covers the time I spend with the student as well as any preparations I need to use my own time to make before a session which may or may not include materials I have purchased out of pocket.
