When a family chooses to hire me to help their student, the first thing I will do is ask the parents and student what they feel needs improvement in the area of reading/ELA. I will give the student a short assessment that will allow me to gather data to see what the student is struggling with most, and I will use that data to better plan tutoring sessions for the student.
