About
I wanted to do something that would make a difference. What is more important than teaching our youth to succeed in a constantly changing world through literature, composition, and analytical thinking.
I have a Masters of Education from the UMHB, a BS in Communication from FSU, AP Certification in both Lit and Comp, and yearly training. I have taught Dual Enrollment and at the undergraduate level at CTC, University of Phoenix, and UMHB.

We get to know each other by asking and answering a few "Get to Know" questions. The purpose is so the student can feel comfortable in asking questions and answering questions. We can also learn about each other's personality.
I then gauge the academic level of the student and where the student should be at this stage in his/her academic career. With the pandemic, students may be a little behind or need a few refreshers.
Get on with business.
I have worked with a variety of students. Advanced, General, ESL, and students who required modifications.
I would look for a connection. It's important that you are able to ask questions, discuss, and allow for adjustments in the answers or feel confident enough to support the answers given.
