About Allison
I coach writing through the lens of storytelling and creativity. Even an expository essay has some form of story. I specialize in creative writing, screenwriting, English literature, and other forms of writing.
15 Years Coaching and Tutoring Experience
I like to help others succeed.
I began teaching at a local recreation center when I was 19. I taught drama and creative writing. After I spent a little time in the entertainment industry, I attended graduate school and began teaching English at a private school. I taught grades 6-10. Later in my career, I focused on grades 11 and 12.
I have an MA in English Education, a BA in English and writing, and 21 additional graduate credits in creative writing with an emphasis on screenplays. I'm also a published author and freelance writer. Additionally, I taught high school English, creative writing, and film for eight years and worked as an academic coach and college essay consultant for several years.

I've worked with students ages 8-21 on academic subjects. I've also coached and assisted students at the graduate level and adult creative writers and screenwriters.

Details
I am $75-$100 an hour for most creative and academic coaching. For novelists and screenwriters working on a long-term project, I charge $150/hr to travel to the location and $100 an hour for remote coaching. For academic tutoring, I charge $75-$100.
For remote/online academic tutoring: $60/hr.
ETA: Remote/Online Coaching Available Only as of 3/16/20. I will be available for homeschool tutoring/support for students who find themselves suddenly studying at home. I am a former history and English teacher and have tutored at the college level as well. Let me know if you need help with your exams, essays, or any projects.
Temporary rate for academic subjects/homeschool is $30/hr.
