About Helena
I have been tutoring since 2001. Initially, I was tutoring English in Paris. I then tutored studentsin West Africa, London, and finally in California. I was a journalism major, and I have a deep love of English. I also have my PhD and Masters degree in Psychology. I have experience tutoring online and in person. Can't wait to work with you!
I really love the experience of watching people learn. I am wild about creativity and curiosity and watching them come together is just beautiful. I immensely enjoy facilitating this process wherever I might.
I got started teaching in college when my journalism teacher asked me to help other students, and it clicked!

I begin by understand what the student wants to learn and why. For example, helping a student with a paper is wildly different to grammar acquisition, so I focus on the student's goals and tailor my program around their needs or desires.
I have worked with very young students to much older learners. Curiosity is always magical.
Understand what you hope to achieve or accomplish and express that. Don't be shy!
I recently built my own bicycle. This is something that I have wanted to do for years, and I am so proud of creating this common but — in my case — unique tool.
