About Miranda
Hello!
I am currently an undergraduate at UCLA, double majoring in English and History of Religion. For the past 4 years, I have had experience teaching in many subjects, including History, Physics, Biology, Biblical Studies, and Psychology; however, my expertise is in essay help, where I specialize in late gothic and contemporary fiction analysis & research topics. I am well versed in all other eras of literature, so don't fear if your essay topic isn't in my listed specialty!
I find it most helpful to introduce material in ways you personally connect to, and in academic writing I find this to be especially helpful: essays written by a hand interested in the content will always be more pleasurable to read (and grade!) I also do my best to help students find a way to increase their connection to the material, making their motivation in their work more meaningful and long-lasting.
In assisting with essays, I am equally happy to help whether you have an edited draft and are looking for a second set of eyes, or if you can't even wrap your head around the prompt. I will help you be more confident in your writing, which will not only translate into stronger papers but will help you be stronger in conveying your ideas -- better command of your language will help you in every facet of your life and in every profession.
Additionally, I have 3 years experience in test prep for the following tests: general SAT prep, SAT Reading & Writing, SAT Subject Tests (U.S. History, World History, English, French), AP U.S. History, AP English Language, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Psychology, and AP Human Geography. In teaching test preparation, I find it most useful to help my students first master material, and second feel comfortable in the specific test format. Knowing what to expect will lessen test anxiety and can lead you to conquering any test!
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy writing in my free time. I published my first book earlier this year!
