I started volunteering in the schools in 2008 where my children attended school. Found a passion to help others, especially students that struggled. I have a daughter with learning disabilities and a son that is gifted. I gained knowledge in differentiating to help my own children succeed more than the schools standard.

To begin, we would discuss your expectations, needs and develop a plan for success! Each student is an individual with strengths and I would prepare a action plan for him/her to achieve their goals as quickly as possible. Also, would offer progress reports/tips to family. positive reinforcement and lots of encouragement is a must. I believe we can achieve anything we put our minds too.

Look for experience, good atttitude and feedback. You should find someone that would be a team player with guardians. It takes a village.

Orgainzing history fair in my school. all studnets participated and many found their own learning styles in the process. This was very rewarding for me, especially witnessing struggling students achieving success.
