About Emily
I am passionate about everything to do with the English language - literature, grammar, creative writing, technical writing, and reading! I am attentive to the individual needs of clients and take care to ensure that the tutoring process is collaborative.
As an undergraduate, I worked with Engineers Without Borders as a grant writer and presentation consultant, helping to effectively earn money for global projects. I also worked with individuals interested in creative writing to edit and improve poetry and fiction.
Currently, I am earning my MA and PhD at the Catholic University of America in English Literature and work in the Writing Center, helping students with a variety of writing needs, including editing term papers, understanding challenging texts, improving their grammatical and reference skills, among other services.
I enjoy helping students uncover meanings in texts, learning how to craft the most effective piece of writing possible, and working with them to discover a love and appreciation of literature.
