About Leigh
I have both the teaching experience and the education needed to support students in all of their reading and writing endeavors. I graduated from Emory University with a dual degree in English and Creative Writing and Classical Civilizations. In addition to that, I also have six years of experience in tutoring a multitude of ages, from elementary to college students, and have one year of experience teaching in a charter school setting. With these tools, and my additional certification from the New York State Teaching Certification Program, I readily implement all of my knowledge and experience when interacting with students to give them the most versatile tools possible.
I have six years of experience in tutoring all age groups, from elementary to college students, one year of classroom experience teaching English, Writing, and American Literature at a charter school. I also have a teaching certificate from the New York State Teaching Certification Program. I like to have an interview first during which I can get to know you as the student. What are your goals, the objectives of these lessons, and how can we best approach your learning style?
After this initial interview, we can move forward with a game plan on what skills you want to tackle and how we can develop and plan to achieve your goals.

Leigh was exceptional when helping my son with his essays. He went from struggling to get C’s to easily making A’s on his papers, highly recommend!
Her method of teaching is very interactive and understanding of your speed and she promotes understanding beyond just what’s required.
Patience and made sure I understood
Leigh is a very talented writer and teacher—she explains things very clearly, but she doesn't just hand you the answers either. She has had a lot of experience with teaching in general, and that clearly comes across in how she presents information. She knows how to rephrase and use examples if an explanation isn't understood initially, which helped me a lot with organizing and brainstorming essays. She has a very analytical mind, and she was very good at asking questions that really made me think!
Ms. Pirch really helped me understand how to take my essays to the next level. She was prompt and professional. My scores have been steadily going up with each session and assignment.
