Beginning a lesson with a new teacher requires the establishment of rapport with the learners. For that I usually begin with a short introductory session to break the ice. Next I get to ask about the learner's expectations from the lesson. Following this, a small evaluation to confirm the level of the learner in the particular language is also essential to make planning of future lessons easier.
I work with students from diverse backgrounds. Not only do they come from different age groups ranging from school students to graduates to working adults, they also come from diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
It is very important for a new student to know what are the exact objectives they want to cover before starting any learning process. In addition to it, they must also have a precise understanding of how learning the new language will benefit their personal and/or professional life. This will help in keeping them focused and motivated in classes.
