About Briant
I've been writing creatively and technically for well over 30 years. During my career, I've received much praise, criticism, and wonderful feedback which has helped me hone my skills for writing without dulling my passion for the art.
I have also recently received my accreditation for teaching English - an area in which I admit that I'm new.
My current writing challenges, besides professional technical reports for oil and gas operations, are scriptwriting where I have written a few pilot episodes, explainer videos, profile pages, and a full-length feature. I should note that only the explainer video has been produced and that was by a couple of students at Stanford University for one of their classes. The pilot episodes are being optioned for production and the rest are personal projects.
Anyway, enough about me, I'm anxious to get started.
I have been writing professionally for almost 30 years as a technical writer.
In high school and university, I was most often praised for my creative writing - a passion I've held all my life.
I actively work on scriptwriting in my free time and have developed several pieces which are being considered for production.
I recently completed my certification for teaching English as a second language and plan to move further in that direction.

I learn what their goals are, ascertain how much progress they have made to meeting them, and then develop a way to move forward in the timeframe they need.
Time and patience. Take the time and have the patience to a) seek out the right teacher for you and b) focus on the tasks provided and view them as personal challenges since that's what learning is all about. Challenge yourself to improve yourself.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think big picture and narrow it down to the details. Breaking up the bigger problem into smaller tasks is much easier to handle.
1. What do I want to accomplish?
2. When do I want to be finished?
3. How much time do I have for this?
4. Where do my skills lie now?

Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
He was a great tutor! Very patient and knowledgeable. One of the most intelligent people I know
Mr.Briant was very detailed with his responses and very knowledgeable. If an answer was not understood, he was able to relate it to an alternate scenario making it more comprehensive.

First sessions should be built on developing an understanding of a student's needs and capabilities and I feel that should be free of charge. Think of it as a "free consultation". After the first session, both student and tutor may find that the student's needs cannot be met by the tutor.
If we feel that we're a good fit for each other then we can move on at the student's / parent's discretion on an hourly basis at US$ 30 per hour.
Courses are held online or over the phone. Online is much easier with a webcam for screen sharing and easier file transfer and work review.
