About Mark
Welcome to Swing Matters Golf!
The goal of Swing Matters Golf is to offer fun, pressure-free and unpretentious YEAR ROUND golf lessons to beginning and intermediate players. Golf can be an intimidating game to start and it is my intention to help make learning the game more enjoyable!
I enjoy watching people progress as they learn the game. It is fulfilling to see their happiness when their work begins to show results! As a USGTF Certified Golf Instructor, my focus is on welcoming new players to the game, as well as helping intermediate players improve.
In-season I am available at the all-grass outdoor range at Boulder Creek Golf Club. Off-season I work on the state-of-the-art Trackman IO simulators at Golf616.
Having a passion for the game of golf as well as helping others led me down this path. I find it rewarding to see my students progress with their games. I've been involved with golf since childhood, so finding a career in teaching the game was an easy decision!
I am a USGTF certified Golf Instructor and have been involved with the game since childhood. I am also currently in the PGA PGM program. I enjoy being at the course or range and look forward to helping my students improve!

The first step to working with a new student is to collect info from them regarding their goals and current experience. Each lesson is tailored to the students needs and progress, and is managed at a pace that allows them to learn the game of golf comfortably.
I mostly work with beginner and intermediate players. Beginners range from casual golfers to people who have never played in any capacity. As for intermediate players, I tend to be of the most help to those golfers who are still looking to find consistency and reduce common swing flaws.
Finding the right teacher is a key to finding success learning the game. A good instructor is better at listening and observing than talking, and is able to adjust the pace of lessons based on the student's needs. I strive to be that instructor and would love the opportunity to assist you!
Watching Phil win the PGA Championship was inspiring, as it shows that the golf ball knows no age or experience. Even at age 50, Phil showed what hard work, practice and committment can achieve!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is your past golf experience? What are your personal golf goals? What is your committment level to practicing regularly aside from the lessons?
These are all important items to help determine a lesson plan that is effective for the student!

Perfect! Mark has improved my golf game. His patience and approach to instruction motivates me to improve continually. He is helping me with clubs that will be more beneficial to my game and swing. He has given me a self confidence that improved my physical game but mental game as well. I have enjoyed every lesson even the ones I struggled a little. Mark is a great instructor! Do yourself a favor and give him a try. Tom Kelly

Perfect! Mark was a pleasure to work with this summer! As a beginner golfer who was insecure about playing with others. Mark helped me learn the sport and get more consistent with my skills. I will definitely be coming back next season!

Perfect! Finding an affordable lesson
Perfect! Mark arrived early and was well prepared. He created a very comfortable, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. He took the time to listen to my concerns and to explain the teaching points in detail. He made sure to cover the whys and not just the hows. I would definitely recommend Mark to anyone looking to improve their golf game.

I walked into golf lessons with Mark with ZERO golf experience. I had no equipment and wasn't really sure if I would like it and how far I'd get. Mark met me where I was, he was very relatable and easy-going which immediately put me at ease. His depth of knowledge was very apparent - to me and to my partner who is a "golf buff". He knows when to chime in and when to step back and let me fumble through it and feel it out myself. He is very supportive and great at helping me feel more confident in myself and my abilities. He also helped give input on equipment when I felt ready to take that next step. He's a wonderful teacher and I am eager to take more lessons with him once I have more time on the golf course under my belt. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Worth it! I am hitting the ball better with the few tips he had me work on during the lesson. It’s good to have someone to give me a couple things that I need to do instead of randomly guessing what I’m doing wrong by watching YouTube.
An average golfer for 20+ years and after literally one lesson I was hitting the green from 150 7/10 times. Mr. Dorich needed to adjust only two things to remedy my very inconsistent iron play of over two decades: my grip and stance. And it wasn’t just simply changing a few things around that helped; it was his ability to really teach, explain, and justify these changes in a way that was comfortable and easily understood. I can’t wait for my next lesson!
I've had quite a few lessons with various golf instructors. My most recent lesson with Mark at Swing Matters Golf definitely was one of the best and most productive sessions. There was no pressure and it was fun, educational as well as inspirational. After the lesson I felt excited about my scheduled tee times the following weekend. I'm positive that with Mark's continued tutelage my game can go to the next level. If you want to get results and have fun doing it, look no further.
