About Jocelyn
I am eager to help a person to learn how to write an effective essay, just as my academic advisor and professor taught me when I was 19.
I enjoy helping others to realize that no one is born with the ability to simply write a college essay. These skills are not given; they are acquired through much practice and dedication.
I began as a mock trial coach, and many times was asked to edit my peers' papers and essays given my extensive skills.
I graduated Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelors degree in both Psychology and Religion Studies. Both are fields that have required much writing intensive skill to succeed. I am currently studying at the University of Dayton School of Law.

Before a lesson, I would ask a student to reach out to me so I am able to prepare a study guide/slideshow for them with notes, tips, and tricks on the areas they need help with that we will be addressing. I am very conversational and will walk someone through any concepts that might be troubling them (no judgement whatsoever).
I worked for two years as the assistant mock trial coach at my former high school. I oversaw students on the team in grades 9-12, corrected them in adequate court procedure, as well as answered and directed students in cross and direct examining their witnesses. One of my duties was to equip students with a more in-depth understanding of the case. Another aspect of my position was aiding students in admitting exhibits into evidence, as well as encouraging students to object to questions and procedures. It was my role to help teach them proper strategies for open-court. It was heart-warming to help to boost team morale as coach, as one of my goals was to help the students develop an appreciation for law and mock trial.
I would tell a student that none of these things just come naturally to a person. We must work at the things we wish to see come to fruition, but we must also not be afraid to ask for help. That's why I'm here:)
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should ask themselves which areas of their education is most difficult for them, and which areas they find themselves getting nervous about. It is always a good idea to ask for help first, even if one does not continously need it, but rather just to ensure it is there if they do.
