I am a self taught guitarist and vocalist and I've been hired for paid shows but mostly just enjoy learning songs and playing for friends and family
Music is one of the best things us we humans have created! It's amazing to be able to make your own music.
I was self taught, though I was in band since 4th grade. In college I took many music glasses and a few guitar classes though I was beyond what they were teaching already

I like to see what songs they would be interested in learning and teaching them the chords. Once they have a grasp of many chords then we can get into how you can improvise on any song by knowing a few scale shapes.
