About Rob
Teaching to the student's needs and wants. I use simple to understand instuctions. Showing the student how to strum, form chords and use simply easy picking patterns to play popular songs you like quickly.
My wish is to build your confindence to share your guitar playing with everyone. I also hope you will seek out other musicians and share your talents as a musician and keep learning.
The happy faces of my students being able to play songs they love. Their families and friends seeing how quick they are learning and playing music they all cherish and enjoy.
I was always a good teacher with patience and understanding. I used to teach photography. When I started to play guitar, I was asked how do I play that and that's how I got started to teach.
I am mainly self-taught and grew up in a family of musicians. I have a few teachers under my belt.
I played Ukulele and Guitar in a chorus that sang show tunes, big band songs and popular music.
I also played for church services over the years.
Currently, teaching groups to play together, and I belong to several large social musician's organizations.

I put no pressure on new students. I ask easy questions about what kinds of music they like and what they hope to learn to play.
Based on what I am told, I would start to teach the first lesson. I might use a lesson book if needed. I also could use an electronic recording device for lessons to create tracks to play with and speed up the learning process.
I've worked with all kinds of students. From young children to seniors, beginners to sharing ideas with pros.
Ask questions. See if the two of you are compatible.
I love to play with all people at all playing levels. A few of my social groups are all inclusive groups, all are welcome.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is realistic for me and my time? Am I willing to do the work required for me to learn what I want? Are shortcuts okay for me to get started? Can I get away with an inexpensive instument?
