About Matt
I am an aspiring teacher who loves to help students learn new things and thrive. I am completely dedicated to teaching, and love working with people of all ages.
Making history come alive for students, watching them as they put the pieces together and understand. Helping students become more independent and self assured.
Tutoring my younger brothers
I have been tiutoring history and related subjects for years. I have a Bachelors in History and have taught children and adults of all ages.

Finding out where they stand academically and emotionally in a given subject. Not just what their grades are, but how they feel about the subject matter, teacher and environment at school and home. How they think they learn best and what aspects of the subject they enjoy and do not enjoy.
All ages, academic levels, and students with disabilities, both physical and mental.
Make sure they love the subject matter and working with people. Many tutors know the subject matter inside and out but may have difficulty relating it to different students.
Watching a student recieve his last report card and seeing his social studies grade go from a D for the first quarter to a B+ for the last. He was so proud and excited to show me that my heart nearly gave out.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How can I change my daily routine in order to give each subject the time it needs? Why do I think I am falling behind in a certain subject? Who could help me? Really though, never be afraid to ask a teacher about your needs, they are there to help.
