About Patricia

I train horses and teach riding to students of all ages at their place and at their pace through my business Equest-ETS. I've provided lessons to horse owners and horse training for more than twenty years. Lessons are available in stock seat, English hunt seat and lower level dressage. My education includes UW-River Falls equine science classes, attendance at clinics conducted by John Lyons, TTEAM clinician Robin Hood, and various others. Seeing horse owners form a closer bond with their horses and become more comfortable with handling and riding their horses. It's also satisfying to see the progress the horse and its owner makes through the training sessions.

Worked with 4-H horse project members and other young and beginning riders.



Attended the horse science program at UW-River Falls, River Falls, Wisconsin and riding instruction through UW-La Crosse.

Took private lessons and attended various clinics and symposiums presented by nationally known horsemen and women.

Interviewed knowledgeable horsemen and women and covered horse related events for articles. Articles have been printed in publications distributed statewide and nationally.

The initial step is to assess the level of skill/experience of both horse and rider. Assessment also includes tack and its fit on the horse and for the rider.

Determining the goals of the rider/owner and the type of riding he or she wants to develop.

Lessons generally begin with establishing communication through ground work - leading and lunging.



I work with students of all ages of at least eight or nine years and up. I've worked with senior riders who have had joint replacement and other physical limitations.



I have been working with an injured horse helping it recover from the injury and to overcome the PTSD associated with the injury. The injury caused the horse to associate being ridden with pain. Along with chiropractic work to realign his hip and spine, I've used massage and reiki to help the gelding recover.
