As an instructor I try to create a relaxed and fun environment for both you and your horse to work on becoming balanced and properly positioned. We will do anything from strength training exercise to yoga! We will work on trust between horse and rider all while allowing you to fall in love with riding (maybe again!)

It was a natural transition for me at the barn I was already riding and showing for.



I attended Otterbein University and received a BA in Psychology with a minor in Equine Science. I am a member of the USDF and I rode at the collegiate level for the school against other colleges. After I graduated I continued working with horses and people in Ohio at various barns. I was a "horse sitter" as well as a private teacher for an 8 and 10 year old girl. 

Before college I rode in the Morgan horse circuit working and showing mostly on the flat. I started when I was 10 years old! I began teaching lessons for the owner and helping to manage the barn around the age of 17 during the summers. I continued teaching lessons on my collegiate summer breaks until I was about 20. I also took on a Quarter Horse project and began to show him around the age of 18.

For a new student and/or horse I like to do an orientation lesson so I can see the movement and positioning of both horse and rider. After our initial lesson, we will begin working on different techniques to get both you and your horse flexible and balanced.



Children through teenagers have been my specific demographic but I have also taught some lessons for beginner/intermediate adults as well.

Details

1-Hour Private Beginner or Intermediate class is $50 with a 24-hour cancellation policy.

1-Hour Semi-Private Beginner or Intermediate class is $40 a person.

Since I am traveling to you, this hour is only a riding lesson with a warm-up, work-out, and a cool down. Your horse is expected to be tacked up and ready to go at the beginning of the lesson and you are responsible for untacking and cleanup after the lesson.
