About Coach
Gold Summit Martial Arts Institute is run by the Non profit organization Gold Summit Organization for Development of Eastern Culture. (GSODEC)
The Head Teacher works directly with Buffalo's Sister City in Changzhou, China, affording many exchanges and opportunities for Gold Summit students. The training is traditional and challenging, yielding the best results in the region. Students are accepted into the Institute after taking a 2 week trial, and are evaluated on their personal progress throughout the training relationship with the Master.
Laoshi Markle, the Head Teacher at the Institute, has 20 years experience in Kung fu, Tai Chi and Qigong. She has trained vigorously under Buddhist monks in Buddhist study, practice and meditation. She practices Chinese medicine theory, vegetarian diet, and Chinese herbs. Her teaching methods have helped 100's and 100's of people in the Buffalo Niagara region, China and Canada.
Coach Larson, a founding member of the Non profit, is also manager and Kung Fu, Dragon dance Instructor at Gold Summit. He has over 18 years experience in Martial Arts including Kung fu, Judo, Boxing and Kenpo. His passion is to assist Laoshi Markle in her vision to help others through the learning of the Chinese Arts.
Gold Summit is passionate about helping people to better their lives and encourage self improvement through the training of the Chinese Arts. We don't water down the art form for the sake of money and truly enjoy seeing the training positively affect the lives of the students and members.
Gold Summit was founded in 2008 as an educational non-profit organization. Master Markle has over 20 years of teaching experience. Coach Larson has over 15 years of teaching experience. Any assistant teachers have at least 3 years teaching experience and 1000 hours of training.

Each prospective student will receive a complimentary tour of our facilites and the opportunity to discuss goals and expectations with Coach Larson. If the prospective student is a good fit, we will schedule a 3 week trial to assess if the student will be accepted into our beginner program. After enrollment, Master Markle, Coach Larson and the rest of the teaching staff will advise and guide the new student as they progress over the enrollment period.
