About Makia
As a prior substitute teacher and current professional in the social work field, and graduate student, I am inspired to tutor. Upon completion of school, August 2025, I will obtain a Master's of Social Work degree with a clinical focus, and goal of Licensed Clinical Social Work. Teaching has been a passion since 2012. I have 8 professional years combined of teaching. I have taught adults with special needs, and substituted for grades pre-k through twelfth. I have taught general eduaction and special needs students. Primarily having served the Chicago area, and south suburbs of Illinois, I don't mind a challenge. I enjoy watching students enhance their learning abilities through critical thinking, strategy, and self-confidence. Motivating students starts with reassuring them to learn at their own pace is fine!
