About Catheryn
I am a recent graduate from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a specialization in Writing & Rhetoric. Being bilingual, I received the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy in English and Spanish. I am proficient in both languages, making me a valuable asset for students seeking Spanish language tutoring.
While in college I worked at the Writing and Speaking Center for about two years. The experience was amazing and gave me the opportunity to sharpen my skills in analyzing and enhancing student essays across various disciplines. Through close reading and personalized guidance, I provide students with valuable tips, strategies, and resources to improve the quality of their writing. I have also actively participated in weekly writing workshops, further enhancing my understanding of effective tutoring strategies and technical editing.
In addition to my writing expertise, I bring comprehensive experience in college admissions support. As a Senior Admissions Intern at the Colgate Office of Admissions, I managed the university's social media accounts, creating engaging campaigns to promote the institution's brand and foster increased engagement with prospective students. I also got the opportunity to read applications with the full-time staff for the incoming class of 2027. I'm excited to share my insights and work with you!
